Meet the McDonalds
Like many owners, Harrison and Cathleen McDonald each began with “just one horse” and soon discovered that the challenges and rewards of breeding, training, and showing Peruvian Horses were very satisfying. Over the past 30 years they have enjoyed all facets of Peruvian Horse ownership and the relationships they have built with fellow owners, competitors, and breeders.
In 2006, they made the decision to retire from the show arena, opting to go out at the top of their game.
Harrison Hodges McDonald, P. E., is a Registered Professional Engineer having graduated from the University of Florida, College of Engineering in 1961. He has practiced his profession employed by Procter & Gamble and Celanese Corporation as a Senior Engineer. Since 1973 he has managed his investments in construction, real estate, and food service. Harrison is a licensed multi-engine certified pilot and for many years piloted his own Twin Commander 500B. He is a carded judge of Peruvian Horses.
Cathleen Sullivan McDonald, J. D. is a licensed attorney, a graduate of Arizona State University College of Law. She also holds a Bachelors degree from Mesa State College, conferred Summa Cum Laude. As an enthusiastic hobbyist, she has owned and shown Peruvian Horses since 1988. She spent many years as a horse-show announcer, but retired to enjoy the wonders of Silver Creek Ranch with her husband, Harrison.
