For more information about our approach to breeding fine Peruvian Horses, read the article published in the Peruvian Horse Quarterly. |

Smooth, Strong, and Sane – this is the way a Peruvian Horse should be. At Silver Creek Ranch, we have bred to this exacting standard for nearly 30 years, beginning with the horses of successful Peruvian breeder, Alfredo Elias V., and creating a legend of our own. The emphasis for most of our career has been on showing horses, and we have been very successful. The Silver Creek Ranch team won the coveted U.S. National High Point Breeder Award an unprecedented 10 times. No one else has won it more than twice. We love the competition and the rewards. In 2006, we made a decision to retire from showing Peruvian Horses and sell our herd. Breeding great Peruvian Horses is a complicated and challenging undertaking and the desire to produce quality horses is hard to abandon. It is a pleasure to watch our horses compete successfully with their new owners. We take satisfaction in having helped others achieve their dream of owning the perfect Peruvian Horse – one with the strength to last, the elegance to make riding them a pure pleasure, and an energetic and willing disposition. Best regards, Harrison & Cathleen McDonald |
